Karen Lee began her life in Texas, and lived in several different places before finding paradise in Victoria, BC. She also started off life as an actor, but is now primarily a writer and teacher. She has 20 years experience as a theatre artist, and has appeared in regional theatre in the US and Canada, as well as touring in Europe. Karen was a member of the Amherst Writers & Artists group Manhattan Writers for a number of years, and is so proud of what Aaron has done with the place! (Check out the New York Writers Coalition.) She received her MFA in writing at the University of Victoria, where she also teaches.
Karen is a co-founder of On the Lam Productions, where she writes and produces. Her plays for On the Lam include Yardsale (Best New Play award, 2004 Victoria Fringe) and I Thee Wed (Best New Play award, 2005 Victoria Fringe). I Thee Wed has also toured to Toronto, the Dublin International Gay Theatre Festival, and the Vancouver Fringe.
Karen is certified as an Amherst Writers & Artists workshop leader and is an AWA Affiliate. She lives in beautiful Fernwood with her partner, two boy-children, and Maya and Tia, superdogs.
